Abstract
장애인의 사회참여는 장애에 관한 보편주의적 관점을 요구하는 개념이다. 이러한 관점으로 본 연구에서는 장애인의 사회참여에 영향을 미치는 개인요인과 지원환경 요인을 검증하였다.연구의 대상은 16개의 지방자치단체, 즉, 서울, 대구, 부산, 광주, 대전, 인천, 울산, 경기, 강원, 충북, 충남, 경북, 경남, 전북, 전남, 제주에 거주하고 있는 성인 지체 및 뇌병변 장애인 503명이었다. 연구방법은 장애인의 활동과 참여에 영향을 미치는 개인요인과 지원 환경요인에 대한 분석을 동시에 고려한 다층모형 (Hierarchical Linear Model) 을 활용하였다. 연구 결과 전국 장애인 사회참여의 평균수준은 지역별로 차이가 있어서 지원 환경요인에 의한 차이검증이 필요했다. 장애인들의 개인 요인과 사회참여의 관련성에 관한 지역 간 차이를 검증하자, 학력, 직업, 연령, 소득, 외출시간, 성별, 손상 기간, 장애 정체감, 결혼상태, 신체기능과 같은 장애인의 개인요인은 장애인의 사회참여의 수준에 있어서 지역 간에 차이가 있었다. 또한 신체기능, 장애정체감, 가족 기능은 사회참여 수준에 유의미한 정적 영향을 미쳤다. 사회참여에 영향을 미치는 개인요인에 관한 결과에 지원환경변수를 투입한 결과는 학력과 서비스 이용수준, 직업과 편의시설 설치수준, 손상기간과 의료지원, 신체기능과 의료지원이 상호작용 하며 장애인의 사회참여에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 장애학에서 대두된 보편주의적 접근을 실증적으로 연구 모형화하여 검증한 것으로, 보편주의적 관점에 입각하여 장애인 개인 및 지원환경요인의 사회참여와의 관련성을 밝혀 실천 전략을 제시했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
In this study, I tried to elucidate the personal factors and supportive environmental factors affecting the social participation of the people with disabilities, based on the universalistic approach. I examined adult physically disabled persons numbered 503, who are living in 16 provinces of Korea including Seoul, Daegu, Busan, Gwangju, Daejeon, Incheon, Ulsan, Gyeonggi, Gangwon, Chungbuk, Chungnam, Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, Jeonbuk, Jeonnam and Jeju. I used Hierarchical Linear Model to consider both supportive environmental factors affecting the social participation of people with disabilities and personal factors of them. This study was performed in three steps as follows. First of all, I verified Unconditional Means Model to evaluate if the social participation of people with disabilities differ in each province. Next, I also tried to verify Unconditional Slope Model to confirm the hypothesis that the level of social participation of disabled people with personal factors of them might be different in each province. Finally, I tried to verify the hypothesis that the correlation of personal factor and social participation of people with disabilities might be influenced by supportive environmental factor using Conditional Model. In the present study, integrated viewpoint on the social participation of the people with disabilities could be shown using universalistic approach.
