Abstract

Since Smithies demonstrated existence of heritable variation in its molecular structure
of transferrin, numerous genetic and anthropological studies have been reported.
However there are a few studies of this subject including the distribution of Tf
variants among the Korean population.
This paper discribes the result of distribution of Tf variants among 326 Koreans and
also Tf type identified from the blood stains kept under various physical conditions.
For the Tf typing, the supernatant solution of the serum by rivanol precipitation
method were subjected to disc. electrophoresis following Ornsteins method.
