Abstract

Neuroblastoma is one of the most common and highly malignant tumor of infancy and
childhood, tut the incidence of congenital neuroblastoma is rare. This case is of interest
because extensive involvement of visceral organs by neurobtastoma presumably led to
antenatal death.
At autopsy, a well circumscribed tumor mass, measuring 5¡¿4¡¿3§¯ in size anti 40 gm
in weight was found in left adrenal. The liver was enlarged and weighed 273 gm. Other
abnormalities were absent.
Crossly the tumor was a solid,'dark reddish, well circumscribed marts and
homogeneous surface. The tumor nodules or masses were not seen in other visceral
organs.
Microscopically the tumor composed of round cells of neuroblasts with well formed
rosettes and infiltrated the liver, right adrenal and lung, suspicious for the spleen and
kidney.
