Abstract
식도의 기저양 편평세포암종은 타액선의 선양 낭포성 암종의 충실성(solid)형과 비슷한 모
양의 종괴로서 식도에 발생하는 악성종양중 1% 미만을 차지하는 희귀한 종양이며 과거엔
식도의 선양 낭포성 암종이라고 명명하였지만 최근에 Epstein등과 Wain등은 타액선의 선양
낭포성 암종과 상이한 점을 강조하여 기저양 편평세포암종 또는 기저양 암종이라고 명명하
였다. 저자들은 최근에 상복부 불쾌감과 연하곤란을 주소로한 55세 남자의 식도하부에 내강
내로 돌출하는 기저양 편평세포암종 1예를 경험하여 보고한다.

Basaloid-squamous carcinoma of the esophagus is rare and similiar to the solid type of
adenoid cystic carcinoma of the salivary 91an6. The origin of this tumor is unknown.
The tumor was located in the lower third of the esophagus. The case of
basaloid-squamous carcinoma consisted of submucosal tumor showing carcinoma with a
basaloid pattern and focal squamous differentiation associated with squamous cell
carcinoma or carcinoma in situ of the esophageal mucosa. A few submucosal tumor cells
were positive for cytokeratin.
