Abstract
방광에서 과오종이라는 용어는 1949년 Davis가 최초로 신선종(nephrogenic adenoma)을
과오종으로 오진하여 보고한 이래 전 세계적으로 단지 5예만이 보고되어 있는 대단히 드문
종양이다. 주로 15세 이하의 젊은 연령층에서 많이 발생하고 방광을 구성하고 있는 정상 성
숙조직의 불규칙한 과도증식을 보이는 조직학적 특징 때문에 발생학적인 과오로 생각하는
사람도 있고 염증에 의한 이차적 반응으로 생각하는 사람도 있으나 그 발생기전이 아직까지
확실하게 규명되지 않고 있다. 이 종양은 형태학적으로 신선종이나 투명세포암종(clear cell
carcinoma)과 유사하여 진단에 있어 주의가 요구되며, 또 15세 이하의 젊은 연령층에서는
위장관이나 신장의 이상을 동반하므로 그에 대한 확인이 필요하다.
최근 저자들은 과오종이 발생하기에는 비교적 많은 연령인 44세 남자의 방광에서 발생한
과오종 1예를 경험하였기에 발생기전을 중심으로 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다.

Hamartoma of the bladder is quite a rare entity which is composed of a disorderly
admixture of mature cellular elements normally present in the urinary bladder. There is
a great controversy rewarding the pathogenesis of this lesion. Whether it is a true
hamartomatous lesion or metaplastic lesion developed secondary to the inflammatory
process. Similar or identical lesions has often been given by other names such as florid
examples of cystitis glandularis. We prefer to call florid examples of cystitis glandularis
rather than hamartoma when it was occurred in an old age higher then 50th decade.
Here we report a case of hamartoma of the urinary bladder in 44 years old man.
Cystoscopic examination revealed a papillary polypoid mass which was attached to the
fundus of bladder by long stalk. The mass measured 1.5 cm in greatest diameter. It
was composed of epithelial nests resembling von Brunn's nest, cystitis glandularis or
cystitis cystica dispersed in a stroma rich in smooth muscle and fibrous tissue. (Korean
