Abstract
Nasal cerebral heterotopia는 아직 널리 쓰이고 있는 용어는 아니지만 발생학적 기원으로
볼 때 보다 합당한 용어이며 종래에는 비교종(nasal glioma)이라 불렀다. WHO분류에 따르
면 nasal glial heterotopia라 지칭해야 하지만 엄밀한 검색시 교조직외에 반드시 신경세포가
발견된다는 점에서, nasal cerebral heterotopia가 더욱 정확한 용어라 생각된다 저자들은 2
세 여아에서 좌비강내에 두개골 기저와 연결된 섬유성 연결부를 갖는 이소성 뇌조직(통칭
비교종) 1예를 경험하였기에 발생학적 기원상 이 용어의 사용과 섬유조직이 많았던 본 증례
의 특이성 때문에 보고하는 바이다.

Encephalocele and nasal glioma are rare, benign congenital neuroectodermal tumors
which result from a failure of embryologic sepearation of neuroectodermal and
ectodermal tissues. Nasal glioma should be differentiated from a true glioma, and from a
primary encephalocele, which is a herniation of the cranial contents through a bony
defect in the skull. For this reason, nasal cerebral heterotopia is a preferred term.
We report an unusual case of a nasal mass that was histologically indistinguishable
from nasal cerebral heterotopia but proved to be connected to the skull base by fibrotic
cord. The patient was a 2 year old girl who had had a slow growing palpable mass in
the left epicanthal area for three months.
