Abstract
위장관계는 림프절 이외의 조직에서 발생하는 악성 림프종의 호발 부위이지만1 충수돌기에
서는 드물게 발생되고, 단발성(solitary) 병소보다는 장관 종양의 확산에 의한 경우가 더 흔
하다. Collins의 보고에 따르면 71,000예의 충수돌기 검체중 11예인 0.015%에서 악성 림프종
이 발생하였고 일본 문헌 보고에는 약 16예가 보고되어 있으나 아직 국내 문헌에는 보고된
예가 없는 드문 질환으로 저자들은 충수돌기에 발생한 악성 림프종 1예를 경험하였기에 보
고하고자 한다.
Primary malignant lymphoma of the appendix is an uncommon neoplasm although the
gastrointestinal tract is the most common extranodal site of malignant lymphoma. We
report a case of primary malignant lymphoma of the appendix in a 54-year-old male,
who presented with pain in the right lower abdomen. An appendectomy was performed.
The appendix measured 9.5 ㎝ in length and 5.5 ㎝ in diameter. Cut sections showed a
solitary circumferential mass in the appendiceal lumen. Light microscopic features were
compatible with malignant lymphoma of diffuse large cell type(Working Formulation)
and the immunophenotype was B cell type.
