Abstract


"Disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) is one of the most serious acquired coagulopathies. The clinical manifestations of this condition as well as the laboratory data considerably, depending on the patients compensatory mechanism. The primary treatment of DIC is that of the underlying disease and it`s complications. Gram-negative septicemia and metastatic prostatic cancer are frequent causes of DIC in urologic patients. We report a case of DIC after operation for vesicocervical fistula developed in a 34 year old woman and the relevant literature bas been reviewed."
