Abstract
서론
두개강내에서 발생하는 배아세포종(germ cell tumor)은 두개강내 종양의 2∼5%를 차지하
는 비교적 드문 종양이다. 이 중에서 배아종(germinoma)이 전체의 2/3을 차지하며, 기형종
(teratoma)이 15%, 나머지 태생암(embryonal carcinoma), 내배엽성 동종양(endodermal
sinus tumor), 융모막암(choriocarcinoma)이 각각 5%의 비율로 발생한다. 발생위치는 송과체
주변(pineal legion)과 터어키안 상부(suprasellar region)에서 주로 발생하며, 제 3뇌실(third
ventricle)에서의 발생은 3%로 매우 드물게 보고되고 있으며, 특히 혼합 배아세포종인 경우
는 더욱 그러하다. 최근 본 교실에서는 제 3뇌실에서 발생하여 측뇌실로 확장된 혼합성 배
아세포종(mixed germ cell tumor) 1례를 경험하였기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고 하고자 한다.

The authors report a case of mixed germ cell tumor arising at the third ventricle and
extending to the lateral ventricle in a sixteen-year-old male who presented with
headache, nausea, vomiting and polydipsia. Magnetic resonance imaging of the brain
demonstrated a lobulated mass in the third and left lateral ventricle. For surgery, the
anterior interhemispheric transcallosal approach was used, and on histologic examination
three concurrent histologic components were found ; germinoma, embroyonal carcinoma,
and endodermal sinus tumor.
