Abstract
서론
척추강 협착증의 정의는 추간판 탈출증이나 척추 전방전위증을 제외한 모든 유형의 협착에
의한 신경압박이며, 원인은 대부분이 퇴행성 변화에 의한 골극 형성이나, 주위 연부조직의
비후에 의해서도 일어날 수 있으며, 그외 선천성, 외상성, 술후 유착증에 의해 생길 수도 있
다.
황색인대 골화증은 비교적 드문 질환으로, Polgar에 의해 최초 보고된 이후 진단기술의 발
달로 인해 발표예가 증가하고 있다.
황색인대 골화증에 의한 척추강 협착증은 척추강을 후측방에서 협착시켜 척수 압박을 초래
하는데 흉요추 경계부위에 주로 발생된다.
골화의 원인으로 노화, 만성 퇴행성 변화, 염증, 외상, 대사성질환 또는 내분비 장애등으로
생각되나 이견이 많은 상태다.
본 교실에서는 황색인대 골화증으로 인한 흉추부 협착증을 8례 치험하였기에 문헌 고찰과
함께 보고하는 바이다.

The authors report eight cases of thoracic stenosis due to ossification of ligamentum
flavum. Motor and sensory deficits were found in all cases and urinary incontinence was
found in one case. Diagnosis was made from simple x-rays, myelography, computerized
tomography, myelography-CT, and magnetic resonance imaging.
Treatment consisted of sufficient posterior decompressive laminectomy and medial
facetectomy which resulted in satisfactory improvement in 6 cases, fair course in 1 case
and poor course in 1 case.
