Abstract
서론
과립구성 육종은 과립세포의 전구체로 구성되어 있으며 골수 외에서 발생하는 드문 종양이
다. 이 종양은 1811년 Burns에 의해 처음으로 명명 기술되었고 1966년 Rappaport가 과립구
성 육종(Granulocytic sarcoma)으로 명명하였다. 이 종양은 급성 골수성 백혈병과 골수증식
증에서 가장 흔히 발견되나 드물게 급성 백혈병의 증거 없이 발생되기도 한다. 일반적으로
치료하지 않으면 급성 골수성 백혈병으로 진행하는 것으로 알려져 있다.

A rare case of spinal epidural granulocytic sarcoma preceding acute myelogenous
leukemia is described. A 21 years old female patient was presented with acute
paraparesis. An emergency decompressive laminectomy with removal of mass was
performed. The final pathological diagnosis was granulocytic sarcoma. Her neurological
symptoms and signs were improved after operation. This rare tumor should be
considered in the differential diagnosis of an epidural mass with cord compression in
patients with or without acute leukemia, because early diagnosis followed by appropriate
combined chemotherapy and radiation may obviate surgical intervention and eventually
prevent leukemic transformation.
