Abstract

For the purpose of ascertaining the interrelationship between the reticuloendothelial system and a cancer inhibitory tissue factor, measurements
have been effected upon Rhodamine-B fibrosarcoma implanted rats as to the size of tumor and mitotic processes going on within the tumor cells and through congo red test procedures. The experiment led to the following conclusions:
1. The cancer inhibitory tissue factor, extracted from human placenta, produced a remarkable inhibitory effect upon Rhodamine-B fibrosarcoma.
2. With the RES stimulated group of experimental animals, the enhancement of reticuloendothelial functions appeared to be inhibitorily acting on the growth of transplanted tumor, while with the RES blocked group it appeared to enhance the growth, through the difference was not significant.
3. The cancer inhibitory tissue factor, extracted from human placenta, acted acceleratingly upon the reticuloendothelial function and increase in the dose appeared to give an added impetus to the acceleration.
4. The cancer inhibitory effect of the tissue factor tended to decrease under reticuloendothelial function suppressed, while a conspicuous inhibition was observed under reticuloendothelial funtion enhanced.
