Abstract
Although serum CEA levels were commonly used for the early detection of recurrences in patients with colorectal cancers, but the standard values were not established. We measured serum carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA) determined by the solid phase
radioimmunossay in 313 healthy persons for the purpose of establishing the standard values. The CEA level were between 0.1ng/ml and 6.4ng/ml.
The serum CEA levels were affected by age groups, sex, smoking and alcohol intake.
We utilize this CEA reference level according to age groups, sex, smoking & alcohol intake or not for analyzed of he colorectal patient follow-up.
