Abstract
진행성 골화성 근염은 선천성 골기 형과 결체조직 및 근육의 진행성 골화를 특징으로 하
는 드문 유전정 질환이다. 저자들은 소아에서 발생한 진행성 골화성 근염 2예의 단순 골 X
선 소견과 자기공명영상(MRI)소견을 보고하고자 한다. 1예에서는 우측 둔부에 녹각석 모양
의 골화로 시작되어 우측 경부와 양측 흉벽까지 골화가 진행되었다. 다른 1예에서는 좌측
후경부, 배부 및 둔부근육들이 미만성으로 종창되었으며 MRI상 병변의 특성 및 범위를 평
가할 수 있었다. 2예 모두에서 수족부기형을 동반하였다.

Myositis ossificans progressiva is rare hereditable disorder characterized progressive
heterotopic bone formation in conective tissue and muscles in association with congenital
skeleral anomalies. We report the plain radiologic and MR findings of myositis ossificans
progressiva in two children. One case showed discrete ossification in the right bottock,
neck, and both chest walls on plain radiographs, while the other showed diffuse swelling
of the left posterior neck, back, and buttock muscles, which was demonstrated on MR
images. Both cases showed associated anomalies in the hands and feet.
