Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a multisystem disease with a variety of
clinical manifestations. The development of the disease is often variable and
characterized by repeat of exacerbation and remission. During the course of their illness,
thirty-five to forty percent of patients with SLE show signs or symptoms of
gastrointestinal involvement. We report two cases of acute pancreatitis associated with
SLE. The patient of the case 1 was a 27-year-old female who was admitted after 1 day
of seizure and epigastric pain. Brain MRI showed normal findings and Abdominal CT
showed mild pancreatic enlargement. The symptoms were improved with treatment. The
patient of the case 2 was a 33-year-old female who complained of epigastric pain.
Abdominal sonography showed mild pancreatic enlargement. The condition of the patient
was improved with conservative treatment.
