Hemobilia is defined as hemorrhage into the biliary tract and occurs when injury or
disease causes communication between the biliary tract and blood vessels. The causes of
hemobilia are trauma (accidental, iatrogenic), inflammation, gallstone, neoplasm, and
vascular lesions. Currently, the most common cause of hemobilia is trauma. Specially,
iatrogenic causes are considered as the most important. iatrogenic cause of hemobilia
has increased now because invasive procedures such as liver biopsy, biliary drainage
(PTBD, ERBD) were popular. We experienced 2 cases of iatrogenic homobilia developed
after exchange of ERBD stent.
