Abstract

The tridentate Schiff base ligand: 2-Salicyliden imino-p-cresol, has synthesized from salicylaldehyde and 2-amino-p-cresol by Duff method.
The Schiff base ligand has been reacted with a series of Mo(¥µ), Mo(¥´), Mo(¥³) and Mo(¥²) oxidated states and forms a new Complexesi [Mo(C_(14)H_(11)O©üN)©ü)©üO©ü, [Mo(C_(14)H_(11)O©üN©ü]©üO, Mo(C_(14)H_(11)O©üN)©ü and [Mo(H©üO)©ü (C_(14)H_(11)O©üN)]©üO.
The mole radio of thele ion to the ligand is 1:1 in Mo(M) Complex but 2:1 in Mo (¥³), Mo(V), Mo(¥µ), Complexes, Mo(¥²) Mo(¥³) ions in these Complexes are Octa hedron, hexa Coondinate, and Mo(¥´), Mo(¥³) are hepta, Octa Coordinate, identified from the data of Infrared Spectra, visible spectra, X-ray, T. G. A & D. T. A and elemental analysis.
