Abstract
The tridentate Schiff base ligand: 2-Salicyliden imino-p-cresol, has synthesized from salicylaldehyde and 2-amino-p-cresol by Duff method.
The Schiff base ligand has been reacted with a series of Mo(Ⅵ), Mo(Ⅴ), Mo(Ⅳ) and Mo(Ⅲ) oxidated states and forms a new Complexesi [Mo(C_(14)H_(11)O₂N)₂)₂O₂, [Mo(C_(14)H_(11)O₂N₂]₂O, Mo(C_(14)H_(11)O₂N)₂ and [Mo(H₂O)₂ (C_(14)H_(11)O₂N)]₂O.
The mole radio of thele ion to the ligand is 1:1 in Mo(M) Complex but 2:1 in Mo (Ⅳ), Mo(V), Mo(Ⅵ), Complexes, Mo(Ⅲ) Mo(Ⅳ) ions in these Complexes are Octa hedron, hexa Coondinate, and Mo(Ⅴ), Mo(Ⅳ) are hepta, Octa Coordinate, identified from the data of Infrared Spectra, visible spectra, X-ray, T. G. A & D. T. A and elemental analysis.
