Abstract

Isolated unilateral hypoglossal neuropathy is a rare and multietiological disease. We report a patient with isolated injury of the unilateral hypoglossal nerve after transoral intubation for general anesthesia presenting ipsilateral tongue deviation, dysarthria, and dysphagia. Diagnosis was established with electrophysiologic study of hypoglossal nerve. And the patient could show clinical evidence of recovery within 2-month period of follow up.
