Abstract
1978년 Farmer & Helwig가 피부에 발생한 섬모성 원주세포로 구성된 낭종을 cutaneous
ciliated cyst 라고 명명한 이래, 현재까지 외국문헌에 20예 정도 보고되었다. 이 낭종은 주
로 여자에서, 하지에 발생하며, 조직적으로 난관세포와 유사점을 확인하였다. 원인은 아직
잘 밝혀져 있지 않으나, ciliogenesis 가진 태생기 세포가 비정상적인 이동에 의한 것이나,
뮬러리안 이소성의 결과로 본다.
저자들은 최근 37세 여자에서 좌측 둔부에 발생한 매우 희귀하다고 생각되는 섬모성피부
낭종을 보고하는 바이다.

Farmer and Helwig coined the term cutaneous ciliated cyst in 1978 to describe specific
skin cysts lined with ciliated epithelium a resembling the mucosa of the fallopian tube.
Twenty cases of cutaneous ciliated cysts have been published to dater. All have been
found to affect the lower limb and all patients have been women.
The etiology of the cyst is as yet unknown.
An 37-year-old woman had a cyst excised from the left buttock.
Microscopically, the lining epithelium of the cyst wall was composed of columnar
ciliated cells similar to those seen in the fallopian tubes.
Immunoperoxidase stainings for cytokeratin, epithelial membrane antigen and
carcinoembryonic antigen were positive.
